Information we collect
Depending on how you use our site, we may collect:
- Name, email address, phone number and delivery or billing address
- Order and payment-related details (we do not store full card numbers — card payments are processed by Yoco)
- Account login credentials (stored securely hashed)
- Messages you send via contact forms, WhatsApp or email
- Newsletter sign-up details if you subscribe
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and device identifiers (including via analytics cookies)
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Process and fulfil orders, including courier delivery via BobGo
- Manage your account and customer support
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates and service messages by email or WhatsApp (to the mobile number you provide at checkout)
- Respond to enquiries and garden-design requests
- Send marketing emails if you have opted in (you may unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve our website and measure traffic using Google Analytics
- Comply with legal and tax obligations
Lawful bases (POPIA)
We process personal information where:
- It is necessary to perform a contract with you (for example, fulfilling an order)
- We have your consent (for example, marketing emails or optional forms)
- We have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights (for example, fraud prevention, site security and analytics)
- We must comply with the law
Service providers
We share information only as needed with trusted processors, including:
- Yoco — card payment processing
- BobGo — courier rate quotes and shipping
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics
- Email (SMTP) — transactional and support email
- WhatsApp (Meta) — order and delivery updates we send to your mobile number, and messages when you contact us on WhatsApp
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and our instructions where applicable. Some may process data outside South Africa; we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use a separate cookie consent banner. We use cookies and similar technologies as follows:
- Essential cookies — session, cart and login cookies required for the shop to function. These do not require consent.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (GA4) helps us understand how visitors use the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, but analytics will not run for your visit.
We do not use advertising or social-login cookies on the customer-facing store.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including order records for tax and warranty purposes, unless a longer period is required by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No internet transmission is completely secure; please use strong passwords for your account.
Your rights

If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): www.justice.gov.za/inforeg.
Children
Our store is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
